The Method Team
Method has been delivered by an experienced team with over 45 years' shared experience of successfully supporting the creative development of artists and practitioners, from emergent to internationally established levels, across creative disciplines. The team has been led in 2009 by senior consultants Tim Eastop and Karen Turner, working with Tim Jones of Solar Associates.
Tim Eastop
is an experienced professional working across the contemporary arts in the UK and internationally. Since leaving Arts Council England in 2007, he has worked independently, specialising in artists’ research and strategic development. His clients have included Arts Council of Wales, British Council, Cape Farewell, Kings College London, Goldsmiths College, National Trust, Royal Society of Arts, Tate, Welsh Assembly, and Visiting Arts. At Arts Council England he led national strategies for artists development, founded and directed the International Artists Fellowship Programme and played a leading role in the British Council/Arts Council England Artists Links initiative in China and Brazil. As Acting Director of Visual Arts for Arts Council England, he led national reviews on contemporary visual art and crafts culminating in Turning Point, the current national strategy for the visual arts in England.

Karen Turner
is an experienced arts professional working with artists, cultural organisations, academic institutions, the art market and across a range of sectors in the UK and abroad. As the founding Director of COLLECT at the V&A and Origin at Somerset House, Karen has a significant track record in strategic development and project delivery with a particular expertise and understanding of contemporary crafts. She has worked on international and national projects with organisations including Crafts Council, Arts Council England, Scottish Arts Council, British Council, Cape Farewell, V&A, Somerset House Trust, RSA, Southbank Centre, the Eden Project, Visiting Arts, and many international institutions. Formerly Interim Director of the Crafts Council, Director of Business Development of the Crafts Council and a Trustee of Creative and Cultural Skills Karen is now an Accredited Coach and experienced independent consultant.
Mary Helen Young
, Method Administrator, has seven years experience in performing arts administration in Washington, DC. Previous positions include Program Associate at the Smithsonian Associates, a branch of the Smithsonian Institution, supporting performing arts programs, and the Maryland branch Site Coordinator for Levine School of Music. In addition, she freelanced on diverse projects throughout the DC dance community with Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, CityDance Ensemble, and Jane Franklin Dance. Currently, she is a Master’s candidate at City University in Cultural Policy and Management. Mary Helen is a classically trained pianist and received her Bachelor of Music from Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University.

Mark McGuinness is a coach and trainer specialising in work with artists and other creative professionals. His additional talent as a poet gives him a particular affinity for working with other creative people. Rachel Gilmore is a coach and facilitator working mostly in the creative industry, with 10 years experience in the Learning and Development field. She has a Diploma in Leadership Mentoring and Executive Coaching, a MSC in Human Resource Development and is a Myers Briggs accredited practitioner.
