Who We Are
Tim Jones is the Director of Solar Associates. He's worked in the arts for over 15 years as a producer, stage director, consultant, facilitator, fundraiser, event programmer and teacher.
In 2006 Tim was awarded a 2 year bursary from the Arts Council of England in recognition of his potential as an Arts Producer. He's an accomplished public speaker, who has presented at conferences on behalf of projects he's produced, both in the UK and internationally. Tim is Coordinator of NODE.London, an network of artists, producers, curators and activists that collectively develop the producing and presenting infrastructure for digital media arts in London. NODE.London's first Season of Media Arts took place over a month in March 2006, and supported 150 artistic projects in 40 locations across the city. For the Red Room, Tim produced 'Hoxton Story', an acclaimed series of artistic actions which revealed the effects of urban regeneration in north London. 'Hoxton Story' enabled social housing residents to tell their stories through interviews, publication, walkabout performances and art installations. Since 2005, Tim has raised over £425,000 in funds for arts projects and organisations. As an arts event programmer, he has led and contributed to the successful launch of two mid-scale venues, and has produced innovative initiatives which have engaged refugee groups, people with learning disabilities, and a diverse range of other communities. Tim is a Board Member for Stream, which delivers socially engaged programmes of participatory media arts in Greenwich and east London.
